For this week’s Saturday Quickie, we’ll make a simple leatherwork project, this elegant flower hair accessory.
You’ll need:
- 3 leather scraps in different colours
- length of covered elastic
- scissors and/or craft knife
- paper and marker pen
Fold the paper into 6 and draw a petal on it. Cut out, and unfold, then use it as a template to draw a flower on the reverse side of your leather. Repeat twice more, making your flower shape slightly smaller each time.
Cut out the flower shapes from the leather, and make 2 small slits in the centre of each flower. Orient your slits so that the petals of the flower shapes are staggered. Stack the pieces and thread elastic through all the slits. Tie the elastic together, and voila!

Awesome! And they can be made big or small! But, uhm… how do you ‘fold the paper into 6′? (Yes, I’m an ign’ant old cuss lol) How is that done?
I’m sure you mean like round-wise from the center, like when making paper snowflakes and stuff, but I’m all thumbs over here! ahahahaha ^_~
I mean, is it like a kind of origami technique?

That’s right, as if you’re cutting out a snowflake. Of course, it doesn’t have to be 6, it can be any number you choose.
This is so cute! Love the flower and thanks for stopping by my blog
